Animal Repellents

These products are used for preventing confrontations with pets or wildlife such as canines or bears.

The most commonly used animal repellent in America today is a dog repellent. People are frequently threatened by strange dogs that have either broken free of their chain or were never secured in the first place. Dogs frequently respond to what he or she thinks is an invasion of their territory or if they feel threatened in some other way. Threatened or frightened dogs will often bite regardless of breed or size. Delivery workers are frequently the victims of these attacks as the chance for an animal attack is that much greater due to the nature of their job. Delivery workers should inquire on their company's policies regarding carrying animal repellents before purchasing for usage on their routes.

Bear encounters are far more dangerous than canine encounters. A person can be quickly overpowered and seriously injured or even killed due to a bear's massive size, strength, and surprisingly fast speed. Bears can be unpredictable, but usually attack only when they are surprised or are protecting their young. A bear repellent should always be an item on your packing list for any camping or hiking trip to any area where a bear encounter is a possibility. Keep your bear spray in the holster on your side for easy and fast access if a bear is encountered. DO NOT approach the bear! Attempt first to retreat slowly, but keep your bear spray ready in case the bear approaches you.
