Self Defense Products

Self Defense Products are simply products used to assist in one's self defense. A self defense product, however is merely an aid to the most important and effective weapons at your disposal...your mind and instincts. The most important keys to defending yourself are to be alert, be aware of your surroundings, and take appropriate action if needed.

Some examples of a self defense product are stun guns, pepper spray, TASER® device, a personal alarm or any other item that can be used to assist in your defense if needed. In association with your mind, a self defense product can be used to thwart an assault, robbery, rape, or any other violent crime.

Stun guns are self defense products that emit a powerful static electricity charge that overrides the muscle group that the electrode is applied to. The charge makes the muscle group expand and contract at a very fast rate which depletes the blood sugar from the muscles incapacitating them for a period of time. The shock and the quick depletion of the use of the muscle group will deter an attacker, giving you time to escape.

OC, or Pepper Spray as a self defense product is an inflammatory agent. When someone is sprayed with OC pepper spray, the person's eyes slam shut. Even if someone does manage to get their eyes open, they won't be able to see because OC dilates the capillaries and causes temporary blindness. Additionally, instant inflammation of the breathing tissues restricts all but life support breathing, they double over coughing uncontrollably. As a self defense product, pepper spray is one of the most effective choices available because of its instant effect and its ability to disorient an attacker. As your attacker is recovering from the effects of the pepper spray, you can utilize the time to escape and get police attention. Many pepper sprays also have UV dyes in the mixture that will aid the police in identifying the criminal.
